Highlands Council Grant Application (Social Media Intern, appropriate signage on trails and on streets, and a concert series)

Redevelopment Plan:
We are expecting the Azarian Group to make investments in our shopping center. Improvements have been slower than desired.
All back taxes have been paid.
Skyline Lakes Drive
The Canterbury Road/ Skyline Lakes Drive intersection will be slightly re-aligned to become a three-way stop. This realignment has been staked out and work is scheduled to begin later this week.
In addition to the intersection work, we will be completing the remaining drainage work and addressing outstanding punch list items. Following this, the road will be milled, paved, and striped.
Cheshire Lane
On February 15th, a water main break had occurred on a portion of Cheshire Lane. The Water Department, with the help of the DPW, successfully repaired the break.
We anticipate the damaged roadway will be fully repaired within the next two weeks Pima Court
Pima Court
Last fall, Granite Block curbing was installed to replace the severely damaged concrete curbing. The contract has been completed and we anticipate that milling and paving of the street will be completed in April.
Tree Removal
We have assisted the Board of Education with securing a contract with Branch to BranchTree Service for the removal of 9 dangerous trees at Hewitt School. The schools will reimburse us the cost of this project.
Raingarden
We were awarded a grant totaling $194,700.00 for the 2022 Stormwater Management Grant to construct a rain garden on the grounds of Ryerson Middle School.
This project is currently in the survey and design phase with an anticipated construction date in Spring 2025.
The Borough will conduct an educational presentation for the students at Ryerson School.
Budget
We are working on the municipal budget and will introduce it at the April Council meeting.
In the meantime, budgets are held to May of last year’s funding.
Water Main Flush
The Water Department will be flushing water mains throughout the Borough beginning April 7th. Please check the website for details.
Cupsaw Lake Project
In the coming weeks, we will be cleaning out the detention basin that directly feeds into Cupsaw Lake. This project will involve the removal of vegetation and accumulated debris within the basin.
Attorney Report:
Redevelopment Plan at the Shopping Center
Meeting on March 19th with the Azarian Group to discuss improvements to the shopping center.
We have been in constant contact and have pushed for this.
PILOT forms have not been submitted
We have been working on code enforcements
Be on the lookout!!! Mayor Landis, Deputy Mayor Kerr, and resident Ms. Storch have been working on our annual anti-littering poster contest for the K-8 students of Ringwood. Be on the lookout for our flyer online. We are aiming for a due date of April 14th, just in time for an Earth Day celebration on April 22nd at the Ringwood Library at 5:30pm.
